One month before your removal/relocation. 

  • Notify your landlord (if applicable).

  • Contact Telephone to organize reconnection/installation of a line.

  • Inform Gas and Electricity companies that you will be the new owner

  • Arrange for packing materials to be delivered form your chosen removal company

  • Sort out all your unwanted items and send them to charity shops, jumbles sales etc.

  • Remember to book the right amount of time off work.

Two Weeks before your removal/relocation.

  • Book the removal company of your choice. Do make sure you are covered by insurance.

  • Inform appropriate people about your removal/relocation.

  • Have your mail redirected

  • Organize child and pet minders!

  • . Inform local Authority of change of address.

  • Choose what rooms will be used for.

  • Start your packing!!.....It is never to early to start your packing as you could start with the items that wont be used.

One Week too your removal/relocation.

  • Arrange any final bills to be paid.

  • Have all your meters read and pay outstanding bills.

  • Cancel all your services i.e. windows cleaners, milk man.

  • Confirm arrangements with the utility companies.

  • Arrange for collection/exchange of keys as soon as possible.

  • Clean your old house.

The day before your removal/relocation.

  • Make sure all boxes have been labeled.

  • Finish of all your packing.

  • Defrost the fridge/freezer.

The day of the removal/relocation

  • Make sure you have packed everything, double check one last time.

  • Close/lock all doors and windows

  • Don't forget to leave the kettle out!!
